What the dashboard is telling you

One screen that answers what the state of the business is this morning: what you are owed, how much is late, and what needs you today.

Dashboard · 0:50

Step by step

The dashboard answers one question. What is the state of the business this morning.

Top of the screen is what you are owed, and how much of it is late.

Then the three numbers worth checking daily. Open quotes, jobs in progress, and deliveries waiting on a signature.

Each one is a door. Click the number and you are in the list behind it.

Awaiting customer purchase order is the one people ignore. That is work you have agreed to do with no paperwork behind it.

Down the side, recent activity. Who did what, and when. Useful when somebody swears they never changed a price.

Worth knowing

If the owed figure and the overdue figure are drifting apart week on week, you do not have a sales problem. You have a chasing problem.

Common questions

What should I look at first?

What you are owed and how much of it is overdue. If those two figures drift apart week on week you do not have a sales problem, you have a chasing problem.

What is awaiting customer purchase order?

Work you have agreed to do with no paperwork behind it. It is the quietest way to end up doing a job you cannot invoice cleanly.
